September 8, 2018 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Emily Sonne is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter based in the Twin Cities and a future student of Berklee College of Music. Inspired by a wide variety of folk, jazz, R&B, and Pop, her lyrically driven portfolio ranges from coming of age perspectives, self-discovery anthems, and songs about boys that just deserve it.
Emily began singing at a young age in a family band while also participating in choirs and local shows, and leading a youth worship team. During her high school years, she studied classical and contemporary vocal performance at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists while also taking private lessons and eventually performing with the McNally Smith Twin Cities Honors Jazz Ensemble, as well as the Apple Valley High School R&B Band. Besides vocal training, she has 8 years of classical piano training and plays self-taught guitar.
Currently, Emily is working with Kaity Heart of Heart’s Performing Arts, playing shows with other artists around the Twin Cities, and writing and recording an EP. Emily is passionate about empowering her fellow community of independent artists and using her own music to impact the mental health awareness community. Her single ‘Cordial’ is currently the theme song for a podcast by Mental Health News Radio, and she is a Leader and Brand Ambassador for LÜM (Live Undiscovered Music), a streaming platform dedicated to giving power back to artists. Outside of her music career, she is pursuing a degree in Business Administration in Marketing and Management.
